What to expect?
Depending on what you bring to our sessions will determine how I structure the sessions and the additional tools and exercises I may offer you. My aim is to keep you moving toward your goals by asking questions, and listening to your responses. Some of my questions will be challenging to enable you to evaluate your responses and build awareness of barriers that you might be facing.
Throughout the sessions our focus will be creating a non-judgmental space where we create future focussed, positive motivation to move forward and create the life you desire.
Coaching is not about receiving suggestions or advice. I am not a trained counsellor, and therefore if after commencing a series of coaching sessions I consider that coaching is not the correct support mechanism at this moment in time, I will discuss this with you and help you identify a suitable solution to support your onward journey.
What will happen in a coaching session?
Coaching can be carried out over zoom/ teams or telephone, or depending on your location, face to face.
Prior to your first session I will ask you to complete some information that we will discuss during our in more detail. I will encourage you to share your long term goals with me and we will then break those down into manageable milestones so that we can focus on realistic steps forward leading to achievable actions at the end of each session.
Each session will be last approximately an hour. I will manage the timing and direction of the session to ensure you gain as much value as possible from the session.
Who else will know what has been said?
A coaching session is completely confidential. I agree to and comply with the Coaching Code of Conduct, and only in extreme circumstances will this confidence be breached (including the intent to cause harm to yourself or others, or criminal acts).
What do you need from me during a session?
To make sure your time is being well spent I expect you to come to the session fully prepared, with a goal or aspiration in mind that you would like to work towards.
Preparation before the coaching session is very important and I encourage all my clients to spend 10- 15 minutes prior to the session taking yourself to an environment where you will not be disturbed, ensuring you have what you need with you to feel focused and relaxed prior to the start of the session. You will also need to ensure that you have a pen and paper to hand and any other items that you may think will be useful such as a diary.
I want to start coaching now. What do I do?
You just need to contact me at Helen@mind-focus.co.uk to discuss your aspirations, and a little bit of detail around where you see yourself at the moment. From this we can decide how we want to work together, I will draw up a coaching agreement and start you on your coaching journey.
